Both our managing partners have run their own successful businesses for most of their working lives, which gives us an empathic understanding of the needs of entrepreneurs and business owners.
Managing Partners
Jonathan Quail
Jonathan was born and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has a Bachelor of Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town with majors in Business Finance, Business Strategy and Financial Accounting.
In 2011, Jonathan was instrumental in raising a grant of $75,000 for a solar energy feasibility study that led to an oil and gas exploration project in Namibia. He was also a key part of a team that raised over £1.6 million from small UK investors for this project in 2013 and 2014. He has subsequently worked on a number of transactions, most notably a $20+ million loan facility from the African Development Bank for the Eswatini Development Finance Corporation that was approved in 2019.
He is an inspirational speaker, trainer, workshop facilitator and business coach who has worked with some of South Africa’s largest companies, including Eskom, Momentum, Southern Sun, SuperGroup and SA Rugby, and brings a deep understanding of psychology and human behaviour into all his business endeavours.
Having lived and worked in Johannesburg, the business capital of South Africa, for most of his life and travelled extensively in Africa, Jonathan understands the dynamics and challenges of doing business in South Africa and Africa, while his experience of raising capital in the UK allows him to communicate with European investors and financiers.
Deborah Graham
Deborah is a specialist in business development and digital marketing and was a director of a computer company and the co-founder and director in a successful digital marketing business in London for over 15 years. She is adept at understanding clients’ businesses and developing integrated marketing strategies that align with their overall business objectives.
Deborah also has a flair for branding and graphic design and is an accomplished web developer. These skills are invaluable in the creation of the information we use to present our clients’ investment opportunities and loan requirements to potential investors and financiers.
